The BIG SWITCH - PC to MAC

Published by blognuts at 2:16 am under Gadgets Edit This

After years and years of debate in my head (PC vs MAC), I finally had the guts to buy myself an IMAC last Friday. I’m telling you … I’m loving it!

Imac

20 inch glossy wide screen - great for movies and editing photos, 2GB of 800MHz DDR2 memory so i can run applications at the same time without slowing down, 320 GB hard drive for space, space, and more space, built in camera, DVD±RW super drive and wireless all in that small sleek package.

The switch from PC to MAC will take a little getting used to. ” PC habits” that’s hard to break like right clicks, keyboard shortcuts, different navigation, etc. But i don’t see any real problem to it. There’s also the software I purchased for PC that wont run on MAC. But someone mentioned about a “crossgrade” which i still have to do a little research on for my Photoshop CS3 . I was told that i can just inform Photoshop that I switched from PC to MAC and they can give me license for the software. If that would work, it will save a me a lot of money.

I also found a useful website for MAC users, not just for new MAC user like me. www.versiontracker.com They have a wide list of software downloads and updates. That’s where I found out about www.openoffice.org. Openoffice is FREE software for word processing, spreadsheet, etc I didn’t want to buy IWork yet just to open my excel file so im so glad i stumbled upon that.

So if you guys are thinking of switching to MAC from PC .. i’d say dont be scared. Just jump! You wont regret it! :)

hi there! this is my personal opinion. I am enjoying MAC a lot. I dont have to worry about virus and getting an expensive anti virus software coz its practically non existent for mac. If you dont mind going through some “adjustment period” ofpc habits like right clicks which i i mentioned in the entry, then id recommend MAC :)
